Do not use a metal bowl or spoon for mixing
Do not refridgerate
If air gets in the bag, let it out
Day 1 do nothing
Day 2-5 Squeeze the bag
Day 6 Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup milk, squeeze
Day 7-9 Squeeze
Day 10 Combine in LARGE bowl
Batter in bag
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
Mix with something wooden or plastic. Pour 1 cup starter into each of 4 ziploc bags to give away.
To the remaining batter in the bowl (a little more than 1 cup), add:
1 cup oil
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 large eggs
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 large box instant vanilla pudding
2 tsp cinnamon
optional: add 1 cup nuts or 1/2 cup raisins
Grease and sugar 2 large loaf pans. Pour batter in pans and sprinkle top with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 325 for 1 hour. Let cool before removing from pans.

ok, so maybe a silly question, but what are the initial ingredients to the friendship bread? I can't imagine that you are squeezing and empty bag for three days ;-)
The internet says that it's just flour, sugar, milk, and yeast. (http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Amish-Friendship-Bread-Starter/Detail.aspx) I got a baggie from a friend to start with, though. Charles is heading to Pax River tomorrow.. should he drop some off? :P
